Celine Dion Shares Scary Footage of Her Suffering Spasm in Tearful Documentary Scene

The Canadian superstar, known for her powerful voice and global influence, has been candid about her health journey, shedding light on the painful realities of living with this rare neurological disorder.
In a poignant scene captured for the documentary, Dion is seen lying on a gurney, visibly shaken by a muscle spasm, tears silently streaming down her face. Despite the harrowing nature of the footage, Dion insisted that it be included, aiming to give viewers an unfiltered glimpse into the challenges she faces daily.
Director Irene Taylor, speaking to Variety, revealed Dion’s determination to share her story authentically: “The very first thing she said was, ‘I think this film can help me.’ And then she said, ‘And I don’t want you to cut out that scene, and don’t cut it down.’”
Throughout “I Am: Celine Dion,” the six-time Grammy winner discusses how SPS has impacted her life, forcing her to pause her music career indefinitely since late 2022. Dion expressed her longing for the stage and her fans, emphasizing the emotional toll of having to cancel performances due to her health.
In a recent interview with Vogue France, Dion underscored her ongoing fight against SPS: “I haven’t beat the disease, as it’s still within me and always will be.” She described her rigorous therapy regimen, which includes physical, vocal, and athletic exercises five days a week, highlighting her unwavering determination to persevere despite the challenges.
