Kelly Khumalo Details How Jub Jub suffoc@ted Her with a Pillow While R_ping Her. South African songstress Kelly Khumalo has detailed to the police a series of domestic violence incidents in which she was allegedly r_ped and almost killed by her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye.

These incidents occurred more than a decade ago and involved physical abuse, assault, and rape.

Life and career

Kelly Nonhlanhla Khumalo (born 11 November 1984) is a South African singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer. Born in Vosloorus and later moved to Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal, where she grew up. She relocated to Gauteng in 1997.

Speaking out about having been in an abusive relationship, in 2012 she became an advocate against domestic violence.

The singer confessed to being a drug addict for at least two years during her relationship with the singer Molemo Maarohanye, she attended Narcotics Anonymous meetings

Kelly statement to Police

This, explained the singer to the police, happened in a series of domestic violence incidents, which took place more than a decade ago.

She told the police when the Uyajola 99 host was released from jail on bail after an accident in which several school kids were killed in Soweto, they visited friends in Rivonia.

While there, Khumalo told the police, the couple engaged in an argument. The rapper pushed her against the wall and strangled her, all this while she was about eight months pregnant, she revealed. After the fight, she started experiencing serious abdominal pains and had to be treated at the Sandton Clinic.

The rapper later apologised and Khumalo forgave him, all for the sake of their newborn.

After a while in 2010, said Khumalo to the police, Maarohanye punched her so hard that she hit a door frame and injured her nose. In another incident also in 2010, according to the cops, Maarohanye hit her with his fist on her lip, causing a scar that remains to this day.

“She said they then went to a doctor in Bassonia to have her lip stitched,” said the cop. In another incident in 2010, the rapper assaulted her again after she had gone to attend to their child who was crying. This after Maarohanye complained she was giving the baby more attention than to him.

She said she was at her mother’s house when Jub Jub wanted her bank card and car keys. When she refused, he hit her with a glass on the head.

“The fight escalated when her mother and sister tried to protect her,” added the cop. An ambulance [crew] had to be called and attended to the incisions caused by the glass, of which she has a scar to date.
