In an unexpected turn of events, Honour Zuma, popularly known as Cyan Boujee, has released a video in which she reveals that she secretly left Russia without her hosts’ knowledge following some concerning experiences.

Zuma is among various South African influencers whose accounts were suspended by TikTok last week when their links to a possible human trafficking ring in Russia raised alarm bells online. In her new video, Zuma said God used her to expose the programme.

“I told them that if they were going to work with other influencers, they had to be
legit,” she says in the vlog. Admitting that she had been aware that there were
dodgy dealings in the programme the whole time, Zuma reveals how she had
booked a flight back to South Africa behind her hosts’ backs and instructed her PR
manager not to say a word.

I just wanted to raise a few concerns. They starved me; there were times when we would go for hours without eating. I’m really worried about the kids [the 18- to 22-year-olds] because when I asked one of them how things were going, if she was happy with her accommodation and if her roommates were being nice to her, that girl just cried. I was like, I’m leaving the f**ng country and I’m going [back] to SA.

Zuma and other influencers were allegedly tasked with recruiting 18-to 22-year-old young women for the Alabuga Start Programme in that country with the promise of employment. So far, none of the influencers has been able to provide a clear description of what these “employment opportunities” were and how the job specifications were structured
