A 5-year-old boy was shot dead in Soshanguve, north Gauteng, on Friday night by kidnappers targeting his father’s bakkie.

Social media influencer and brand ambassador Gift Makoti, cousin of the boy’s father, broke the news of the passing of little Ditebogo Junior Phalane in a series of heartbreaking posts on X (formerly known as Twitter), with photos of him smiling to the sun. with his dad.

“He is inconsolable right now,” Makoti told News24 of the father before boarding a flight to be with the boy’s family.
