Vusi Kunene confirmed he exits House of Zwide. Award-winning actor Vusi Kunene has reportedly exited e.tv’s ‘House of Zwide’ where he plays the character of Funani Zwide.

Popular House of Zwide actor Vusi Kune who portrays fashion designer, Funani Zwide has reportedly left the show.

VUSI KUNENE: EXIT?

According to TiemNews, the House of Zwide actor Vusi Kunene left the e.tv show to take a break from acting.

A source reveals: “He’s taking a break from acting because he feels it’s time to take a break from the small screen.”

“He wants to take things easy and relax because he realises he’s not getting any younger.”

It is not clear at this stage if his character, Funani Zwide will get replaced in the fashion telenovela.

TVSA House of Zwide teasers report that Funani Zwide will step down as CEO after Nandipha’s (KB Motsilanyane) death.

Wednesday 17 July: “Funani returns to HoZ but fails to find his passion. He subsequently walks out on a client and later admits to his sangoma that he feels lost and is in a bad space.”

Thursday 18 July 2024: “Funani decides to follow his heart and makes the startling announcement that he is leaving HoZ and going back to KZN.”

The teasers also indicate that Funani may kill Nandipha after she kidnaps Nkosi and Mampho’s daughter, Busi.

Kunene joined the Bomb Productions’ show in 2021 after resigning from Generations: The Legacy as the villainous Jack Mabaso.

‘HOUSE OF ZWIDE’ RENEWED

House of Zwide has been renewed for a fourth season following increased viewership.

The Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) May and June figures reveal that the telenovela is the most-watched show on e.tv with over 4 million viewers.

The telenovela also stars Motlatsi Mafatshe, Tsholofelo Matshaba, Gaisang Noge, Wanda Zuma and Londeka Mchunu.

In the current storyline, Funani meets up with Nandipha, who’s kidnapped his granddaughter, Busi.

Actress KB Motsilanyane will also exit the show after her character, Nandipha gets killed.

Season three of ends on Friday, 12 July while season four begins on Monday, 15 July.
