Zahara’s Family Denies Mpho Xaba As Their Son-In-Law. No lobola? Zahara’s fiancé allegedly not regarded by star’s family
‘Things are not good at all’: Mpho Xaba, the finance of the late South African singer Zahara is allegedly at loggerheads with star’s family.

The late South African award-winning singer and songwriter Zahara – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana was engaged to Mpho Xaba; the couple is said to have had their ‘lobola celebration’ ceremony with friends and family days before she fell sick and got admitted to the hospital, ZiMjoa reported – Zahara will be laid to rest on Saturday, 23 Decemeber, but it said drama is brewing behind the scenes with her fiancé and her family.

The slain Loliwe hitmaker died in hospital in Johannesburg on Monday, 11 December “surrounded by family and loved ones.” She passed away after suffering a short illness allegedly linked to liver problems. According to the publication, Zahara’s family has come out to say they do not regard Mpho as their daughter’s husband as he did not pay full lobola.

“Things are not good at all, they are using the fact that he did not finish lobola against him,” a source speaking to the publication was quoted as saying.

When called for comment, family spokesperson Oyama Dyosiba is reported to have shared his take in the matter. “Look, there was a family meeting, certain things were brought up including the lobola issue and according to the family, no lobola was paid,” Dyosiba reportedly said.
