Burna Boy beats Uncle Waffles. Uncle Waffles loses the  award to the Nigerian star, Burna Boy. The Swaziland-born DJ was nominated for the Best International Act at the 2023 edition of the Black Entertainment Awards, BET.

Nigerian star, Burna Boy

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu (born July 2, 1991) is one of Afrobeats’ foremost artists, who is known professionally as Burna Boy.

Regarded as one of the finest songwriters and singers on the African continent, Burna Boy has lived up to the hype with a rich discography and numerous laurels to his credit.

He is the 2021 winner of the Best World Music album Category at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards for his fifth studio album: Twice As Tall.

Uncle Waffles loses BET award to Burna Boy

Uncle Waffles loses the BET award to the Nigerian star, Burna Boy. The Swaziland-born DJ was nominated for the Best International Act at the 2023 edition of the Black Entertainment Awards, BET.

Other nominees included Burna Boy, Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, and Tiakola

However, Burna wasn’t at the show to receive the award, but his mother, Bose Ogulu walked up to the stage to accept the award.

Uncle Waffles was present at the show, and news about her loss has taken over SA Twitter following weeks of dragging her for representing Swaziland instead of South Africa.
