Dashcam Footage Reveals Harrowing Moments Before Fatal Vaal Scholar Taxi Crash. Dashcam footage from a truck involved in the fatal Vaal scholar transport crash has surfaced, capturing the moments leading up to the devastating collision. The video has deeply moved viewers and renewed national conversations around road safety and accountability.

A mother who lost two of her children in the tragic Vanderbijlpark scholar transport accident has since spoken out, delivering a powerful message of grief and forgiveness. Instead of calling for anger or punishment, she has urged the public to respond with prayer and compassion.

The collision, which occurred on Monday, 19 January 2026, involved a minibus taxi transporting school learners and a side tipper truck. Thirteen children lost their lives, while several others were seriously injured. The tragedy has left families, schools, and communities across the Vaal region devastated.

According to preliminary information, the scholar transport vehicle was allegedly involved in a dangerous manoeuvre shortly before the crash. Authorities have stressed that investigations are ongoing and that no final conclusions have yet been made. A case of culpable homicide has been opened, and both drivers involved are part of the investigation.

Despite the circumstances, the grieving mother has pleaded with the public not to direct hatred or anger toward the taxi driver. Speaking at the crash site, she said punishment would not bring healing or restore the lives lost.

“My children are gone,” she said through tears. “Nothing can bring them back. No arrest, no court case, no conviction will ever fix what has been broken in our lives. I only ask people to pray — for us, for the children, and even for the driver.”

She described returning to a home that no longer feels alive. School uniforms remain untouched, and bedrooms once filled with laughter are now silent. The future she had dreamed of for her children was taken in a single moment, leaving a lifetime of grief behind.
