Khabonina Qubeka Criticizes Shaka iLembe Finale: “That’s Not the Scene We Filmed”.

Award-winning actress Khabonina Qubeka has sparked debate online after criticizing the ending of the hit TV series Shaka iLembe.

Taking to social media, Qubeka revealed her disappointment, claiming that the final scene aired was not the same as what she and her fellow cast members had originally filmed. “This was not the scene we shot,” she wrote, suggesting that key parts of the storyline were either altered or cut during editing.

Her comments have ignited conversation among fans, many of whom had already expressed mixed feelings about the show’s conclusion. Some viewers supported Qubeka, saying the ending felt rushed and disconnected, while others argued that creative changes are common in post-production.

Shaka iLembe, which follows the life and rise of King Shaka Zulu, has been one of Mzansi’s most talked-about series, praised for its production value but also criticized for historical inaccuracies.

Neither the show’s producers nor the channel have officially responded to Qubeka’s claims, leaving fans speculating about what was left out of the final cut.

Her comments sparked even more speculation about what was cut out, though she refused to go into detail, adding that she had already “upset some people” and wanted to move on.

Queen Ntombazi’s Shocking Exit

Season 2 marked the end of Queen Ntombazi’s reign, as her character was killed off in what many fans felt was an underwhelming send-off for such a powerful figure.

Khabonina hinted that what aired on screen was a watered-down version of her performance, saying: “My heart was shattered. When I saw the end last night… this was not the end we shot. I guess they decided to delete a few scenes and edit some moments. I had dedicated that performance to you guys.”

Her comments sparked even more speculation about what was cut out, though she refused to go into detail, adding that she had already “upset some people” and wanted to move on.
