Makhadzi ends relationship with longtime DJ Snani

Makhadzi ends relationship with longtime DJ Snani. Limpopo-born music sensation Makhadzi has officially parted ways with her longtime DJ, Snani, citing continued absenteeism, last-minute cancellations, and a lack of professional commitment.
The award-winning star made the announcement as she prepares for a pivotal moment in her career — the upcoming One Woman Show and the launch of her much-anticipated album.
For nearly four years, Snani was a core part of Makhadzi’s performance team, traveling and performing with her across South Africa and internationally. However, according to sources close to the artist, the once-solid professional relationship had begun to deteriorate over the past year, with Snani allegedly failing to honor performance commitments.
“He would call in sick for work on the last hour, and the team had to make a plan,” a close associate told Sunday World. “The job requires full commitment. Everyone — from the dancers to the backup singers and DJs — is on full-time contracts. But he kept making excuses.”
Makhadzi Speaks Out on the Difficult Decision
In a heartfelt statement, Makhadzi confirmed the split, revealing that letting go of Snani was a tough but necessary decision for the sake of her brand, team morale, and the expectations of her fans.
“I take my work seriously. I respect my fans and the people who support me. I need someone in my team who shows the same respect,” Makhadzi said. “Snani was sometimes unavailable or double-booked himself, knowing he is my full-time DJ. It’s sad because he is like a brother to me, but I had to let him go.”
The singer, known for her electrifying performances and tireless work ethic, emphasized that the stakes are too high for any form of inconsistency from team members. With tight schedules, contractual obligations, and a growing international fanbase, Makhadzi believes that everyone on her team must be equally dedicated.
Following Makhadzi’s announcement, DJ Snani took to social media to share his own message, confirming that he has returned to Limpopo and is now available for individual bookings.
“Spane se fedile. Time to go home and start afresh,” he wrote, suggesting a desire for a fresh start in his home province.
In a follow-up post, Snani expressed his frustrations with the changing dynamics of the entertainment industry, stating that social media following now outweighs genuine talent and experience.
