Mom and daughter slam Spar for ‘humiliating’ them. Two Cape Town women were angered after they were refused entry into a Spar shopping store.

Shanaaz Prins(40) and her mother Fatima(63), who were dressed in their warm fleece tops(Huggle hoodies) doing their shopping at a Mall in Cape Town got a cold front when they were told they can’t enter a Spar store because they were wearing pyjamas.

South African social media users have been left engaged in a big debate after two women shared how they were humiliated by giant retailer Spar.

MOM AND DAUGHTER ANGERED AFTER SPAR REFUSES TO ALLOW THEM IN

According to Shanaaz who spoke to IOL, she tried to explain that the hoodies were not pyjamas but this didn’t work.

“We walked in and the security immediately said ‘sorry, no pyjamas allowed’.

I told her that we’re not wearing pyjamas, but she insisted that we can’t enter the store while wearing our Huggle Snuggle tops.”

“She told us to take it off in order to enter.

I told her that I couldn’t remove my top because I only had my bra on underneath, but she still insisted that we couldn’t enter.”

NO PYJAMA POLICY

Meanwhile, the store’s manager Ashley Bodkin told the Daily Voice that there is no such policy at the store.

According to him, the security guard was informed about the policy at a different store and assumed it applied to all stores.

He explained that he informed her that this was not the case. He also offered to write a written apology to Shanaaz and her mother.
