Gayton McKenzie, who was recently appointed the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, has set social media abuzz after he cancelled all trips for super fans.

Super fans like Mama Joy, who enjoyed perks such as traveling the world to watch prestigious matches and staying in luxury hotels, have found themselves stripped of these privileges.

He revealed that the Ministry of Sports will no longer cater to or sponsor super fans. Instead, they will use the money to fund athletes and artists.

“I have stopped all trips for super fans, we have athletes & artist who are struggling to raise money to attend sporting events and exhibitions, how do we justify paying for fans? We shall no longer be paying for these trips and will use that money where it’s needed the most.”
