PICS: Rasta pays tribute to Dineo Ranaka

Rasta pays tribute to Dineo Ranaka as she seeks help for her mental health!
Following Dineo Ranaka’s candid revelation about her struggles with mental health, well-known artist Rasta has honored her by sharing a portrait he painted of her.
Taking to social media, the Zimbabwean-born painter showcased his artwork and wished Dineo strength during this time.
In an interview with TshisaLIVE, Rasta recalled their encounters in the corridors of Metro FM, where Dineo used to work for the radio station. He mentioned sharing a laugh with her when she jokingly asked him not to draw her.
“I hope she sees this painting as I try to reach out to her or her sisters. I am certain she will receive the painting and appreciate the love she has shown me. Our sister Dineo is a strong woman, and we hope she finds her way back,” Rasta said.
Rasta, who has previously paid tribute to artists like the late rapper Riky Rick and actor Patrick Shai, both of whom battled mental health issues, expressed his empathy.
“It is disheartening to hear about our role models facing such hardships and contemplating taking their own lives. I have fought my own battles. When society judges and criticizes you, it becomes challenging to thrive. Life can be harsh, tough, and difficult, but we must stay resilient,” he added.
As Dineo Ranaka receives support from many in South Africa, Rasta’s tribute serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and compassion for those facing similar struggles.
