SAPS Van Caught on Camera Allegedly Offloading Alcohol at Pakistani-Owned Bottle Store

SAPS Van Caught on Camera Allegedly Offloading Alcohol at Pakistani-Owned Bottle Store.
A South African Police Service (SAPS) van assigned to the Dudula area has come under heavy scrutiny after a video surfaced online allegedly showing officers offloading crates of alcohol at a bottle store reportedly owned by a Pakistani national in Danitta.
The video, which has since gone viral on social media platforms, shows uniformed SAPS members removing what appear to be cartons of alcohol from the police vehicle and carrying them into the liquor store. The incident has sparked public outrage and raised serious questions about police misconduct, corruption, and collusion with foreign-owned businesses operating under suspicion.
Community members have voiced their anger, claiming this is not the first time SAPS officials have been seen engaging in questionable activities in the area. Some have accused local law enforcement of being complicit in illegal operations rather than enforcing the law.
Operation Dudula, a controversial movement known for its stance against undocumented foreign nationals and alleged illegal businesses, has also weighed in, calling for an immediate investigation and the suspension of the officers involved.
SAPS Responds
As of Tuesday morning, SAPS national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that the video is under investigation and internal processes are underway to verify its authenticity and establish the identities of the officers involved.
“We take these allegations seriously. If proven true, disciplinary action will be taken against the members implicated,” said Mathe.
Meanwhile, community leaders are calling for greater transparency and for SAPS to clean up its ranks. “This incident further erodes the trust between the public and the police. We need accountability,” said one Danitta resident.
Developing Story
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the alcohol offloaded was part of an official seizure, delivery, or if it was connected to any criminal investigation. However, the absence of proper documentation and protocol in the video has raised suspicions of misconduct.
The incident remains under review, and SAPS has encouraged members of the public with more information or footage to come forward.
