Kelly Khumalo’s Tearful Plea For Help Backfires

Kelly Khumalo’s Tearful Plea For Help Backfires, Kelly Khumalo thought she was doing a good deed — but Mzansi was not having it. The Empini singer, who has lived under a dark cloud of controversy for years, posted an emotional video on 10 September 2025 asking South Africans to help her sponsor a young girl’s Matric dance.
Kelly Khumalo’s “Good Deed”
In the clip, Kelly revealed that a young fan had written to her, asking for help with her farewell dress. The star explained that she wanted to make the girl’s night unforgettable:
“I have this girl who requested a Matric dance dress from me, and she doesn’t even know that I’m doing this. However, I feel that she deserves to have the Matric dance of her dreams.”
Kelly proudly shared that she had already secured the dress, makeup, photographer, and transport — but needed the public’s help with shoes, hair, nails, an after-party outfit, and even a hotel room.
Mzansi: “We Want Senzo’s Truth, Not Shoes!”
Instead of praise, Kelly’s plea sparked outrage online. Many South Africans dragged her for daring to ask for help while her name remains entangled in the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
@TheGeopol snapped: “To hell with the Matric dance. We need Kelly Khumalo to come clean on who unalived Senzo, full stop.”
@salim_sgo demanded: “We want the truth about Senzo first.
