The convicted serial murderer and rapist escaped prison with the alleged help of Nandi Magudumana, and most recently, a documentary about them was broadcast on Netflix The Netflix documentary about Thabo Bester renewed interest in his crimes, and a video of him celebrating his birthday under a pseudonym surfaced on social media
A video by Thabo’s fake media company, 21st Century Group, showed that Thabo Bester was confident enough to show his face while in prison. South Africans got their first clear look at the full clip of the various celebrities in attendance, including Amanda du-Pont.
Thabo Bester hosted a party from behind bars, and a video showed how the evening went. The lavish affair at the Hilton in Sandton featured former SABC News anchor Thabile Ngwato, who briefly introduced the event in the video. Amanda du-Pont was also visible in the video’s background, and it seemed she was conducting interviews at the event. A member of the National Assembly, Jimmy Manyi, was also spotted at the party. In one portion of the clip, everyone was singing Happy Birthday to Thabo, who was going by the name Tom Motsepe. Thabo looked comfortable laughing with the crowd after the MC said she hoped he wasn’t crying after they sang him Happy Birthday. It was clear that the birthday party was a lavish event.
